Expressing his deep regret that he had torn up the letters to and from Mrs. Taylor. He had however managed to retrieve the fragments from the wastepaper basket and was sending them in hopes that they could manage to piece them together. He was overwhelmed with letters of this kind and felt he must make some clearance. Only 5 Holloway prisoners now, all long term, and they say his visits will be more and more of a blessing. N.B. Several of the letters in this collection have been stuck together as he suggested.
