Annotated and inscribed 'Henry Festing Jones. 18 Nov. 1897'. Two related press cuttings, from The Times of 6 May 1902 and Pall Mall Gazette of 17 January 1896, are pasted in at the front of the volume. At the back is a handwritten list made by Henry Festing Jones, of people to whom copies of the work were given.
