Scope and Content

DRAFT LETTER: William Hughes, to Mrs. Wm. Owen Stanley. He has purchased one sack pf flour no.2 at 50/- per sack. The best flour is 56/- per sack. The cheapest lot of rice was 17/ - per cwt., an inferior quality; the second lot was 22/-, of better quality, but he bought none. The market is generally thought to be low as it will be for some time. In London the price of wheat dropped from 5/- to 4/- a quarter, and William thinks it may do here also.
