Barberton, or the South African, Anti-Malarial Association, was founded in 1910 after correspondence between Ross, O. Staten and Lady Selborne who were residents of that town. Lady Selborne was appointed president and in 1911 Ross was appointed honorary adviser. In 1910 Ross wrote a pamphlet on malaria control and prevention especially for the Association and also supplied them with lantern slides and lecture notes.
