In 1922 Ross suggested to the Ministry of Pensions that as he had now completed his memoirs and had more or less treated the cases of malaria in the Ministry of Pensions clinics for which he had been responsible that he would now like to turn his attention to intestinal flagellates, especially Lamblia. This research was thus conducted well before the foundation of the Ross Institute,w hilst Ross was still Honorary Consultant in Malaria to the Ministry of Pensions.
