The Hedgey Road Plays was produced by Marillac Theatre Company at Belfast Opera House, in Aug 1989. It was written by Peter Cox and directed by Robert Rae with pupils and teachers of St Louise's Comprehensive College for Girls, Belfast. The Donkey's Revenge follows the story of a group of girls who are rehearsing a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Ma Hat, Ma Coat, and The Ghandi Girls follows some of the characters of the first play at home. The production was first performed at the Grand Opera House, Belfast, in Aug 1989, before touring to Hawkswell Sligo, Taidhearch Galway, Siamsa Tire Tralee and Rialto Derry/Londonderry in Sept 1989. In 1990 the plays toured to Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh and London as well as the US.
