THE MAITLAND SANATORIUM, PEPPARD COMMON RECORDS

Scope and Content

The Maitland Sanatorium was founded in 1902 to provide open-air treatment for people suffering from tuberculosis unable to afford the fees of usual sanatoria. It depended on charitable donations for its existence. The report provides many details of the regime imposed on its inmates.

The records were deposited in 1980, and formed part of Accession 1963 (the remainder of this accession has been catalogued as O111 and O112-O113).

Catalogued by Robin Darwall-Smith in July 1993.
