Illustrations of Costumes from 1610-1640

Scope and Content

Illustrations that have been cut and removed from a book are mounted onto grey card. These illustrations would have been used by the Leicester College of Art and Technology, 1927 onward as a teaching resource. Some images have been stamped with the Leicester College of Art and Technology embossed stamp.

The images depict examples of dress between the years 1610-1640, some are colour and others are black and white monochrome. One image is a postcard of a photographed Buff Leather Coat 1620-1630.

Administrative / Biographical History

The illustrations cannot be accurately dated but judging from the paper it is likely that the images were published in the early 20th century. The pages have been glued and mounted onto card making it impossible to inspect the reverse pages which would help to ascertain what book these images come from.
