Letter

Scope and Content

From John Pringle [1912-1982, zoologist], asks if he can see the Turing's manuscript of his PRS B paper [Proceedings of the Royal Society B [Biology] section i.e "Chemical basis of morphogenesis"] for a talk he is giving on the origin of life at Oxford in July; note says this was "Sent 18 Jun 1952"

Note: it appears that Pringle has mis-dated his letter to "1951". Turing's morphogenesis paper was not published until 1952, and Hodges Alan Turing, p.466 confirms that Pringle's talk on the "Origins of Life" was given in 1952, and published in Vol.VII of Symposia of the Society for Experimental Biology, 1953.
