This collection comprises a list of articles buried in a time capsule in Coppergate beneath Jorvik Viking Centre.

Administrative / Biographical History

The York Archaeological Trust was formed after the York Philosophical Society joined the Council for British Archaeology in 1971.

It is an independent charity which investigates the past for the benefit of present communities and future generations by carrying out archaeological excavations, publishing books and supporting Community Archaeology groups in the region. They also offer training and education programmes for all levels.
