Various photographs of Gissing's close family and friends, including his birthplace and the schools he attended as a child in Wakefield. Later photographs include locations in London which relate to, or are depicted in, some of Gissing's novels and various places Gissing visited and lived in during his lifetime. They include photographs of the room in Maison Elguë, St Jean Pied de Port, France, in which he died and the cemetery where he is buried.
