Letter from Alfred Gissing to Winifred Isaac. He writes of the works of Algernon Gissing: "It is good to hear that my uncle's book on Ludlow is still being read. I always feel that such books as these might not be allowed to die - his book The Footpath way in Gloucestershire was his last of this kind, & I have a private feeling of my own that the type of work is unique. It seems to me to be a remarkable book."
Dated at Barbon, Westmorland, via Carnforth.
