Scope and Content

Letter from Alfred Gissing to Winifred Isaac. He writes: I have not read the whole of H.G.Wells's autobiography, but just enough to learn its general tendency. I try to imagine what my father's opinion of it would be, & I can't help feeling that he would call it journalistic. But still I have no doubt that it has an interest of its own.
