Letter from Alfred Gissing to Winifred Isaac. He writes: My uncle, Algernon Gissing, wrote a good many novels, among them are - The Secret of the North Sea, A moorland Idyll, The Keys of the House, Knitters in the Sun, Second Selves, The Unlit Lamp, Rosanne. But most characteristic of him are his little books dealing with local histories, Ludlow, Broadway, The Footpath Way in Gloucestershire. My detailed life of my father is not yet published, & my writing consists mainly of contributions to the reviews.
