Scope and Content

Letter from Alfred Gissing to Winifred Isaac. He writes: Your most kind letter arrived just before my father's birthday, & I was really delighted to get it & to hear that you were well & as active as ever, and to know that you were able to buy 'The Odd Women'. I have always felt that it is one of his strongest books, and I fully agree with all that you say about it... With regard to what you say about Time & Eternity, I remember that my father had a strong belief in the close contact of the two worlds, & I don't think there is any sharp division.

Dated at Les Marécottes (Valais), Switzerland.
