Letter from Alfred Gissing to M.C. Richter. He writes regarding the sale of various items: "Recently on a visit to Paris I came across someone who is desirous of selling the rare novel of my father's, Workers in the Dawn. This copy, in 3 vols, & perfect condition, happens to be the most valuable, probably, of all the copies extant, as it was the author's own copy and vol. I of it contains numerous excisions in pencil & a few verbal alterations which the author made in view of a possible 2nd edition (never issued). The title-page bears the name G. Gissing in his wife's hand."
