Scope and Content

Deeds relating to Llantwit Fardre parish, Glamorgan, 1705-1709; lease for a year [release missing] of property in the parishes of Penllyn (Penlline), Llangan and Newton Nottage, 1749; letters patent appointing Reynold Deer Sheriff of Glamorgan, 1731; and appointment of William Salmon as Deputy Lieutenant of Glamorgan, 1852.

Dr William Salmon (1820-1895) of Penlline Court, Cowbridge, Glamorgan, was Deputy Lieutenant of Glamorgan; he accumulated documents relating to the parish of Llantwit Fardre.

Custodial History

The collection appears to have been accumulated by Dr Salmon. Following his death in 1895, the documents passed to the family of one of the executors of his will, who in turn deposited them with the Glamorgan Record Office.
