Scope and Content

The files in CLA 1/5 are in two separate series, each alphabetically arranged, with a couple of files of doubtful provenance following them.
CLA 1/5/1-128 formed a distinctive group, and all were selected. They have their original titles and ordering. They are the files of the Hospital Secretary, Mr Jeff Shaw - he later became Sector Administrator. Some files relate to the Sector, but most relate to the hospital itself. They relate to day to day administration, although they also contain some policy files, the minutes of various meetings, financial and staff matters etc. They cover the period c. 1975-1980.
CLA 1/5/129-172 are other administrative files covering, roughly, the late 1970s - 1980s, although a few overlap with CLA 1/5/1-128 in date. Many also overlap in terms of content. They were in no particular order and probably represent only a proportion of the whole. There are some routine files and some policy, staff, financial files etc. Some Unit Management Team minutes (copies) are also included. they have been arranged, for convenience, in an alphabetical order
