Scope and Content

LETTER: J[ohnny] Parry, 108 Botany Street, Moore Park, Sydney to his mother, brother and sisters. He was very pleased to receive letters from Nelly, Maggy and Tom, also Miss ? Holmrood, and to learn that his mother had been staying with Aunty Margaret. He is glad that Tom is looking after everyone at home. The reason why they are all so happy is because they seek to follow in their blessed Saviour's steps. He mentions that young Mr. Harling has died and that he received a letter from Mr. Harling senior which he has copied word for word in his letter. He was sorry to hear of Aunt Sarah's illness. He is suffering with boils and the "prickly heat" which he suffered mad him almost worry to the asylum. He hopes the P.O. for £4.15s. which he sent to his mother arrived safely. He urges them to acknowledge any money immediately. He sends his regards to several friends, and mentions that he has not received a paper from home lately. He dreads the summer as the mosquitoes will be feeding on them again.
