John Hirst and Sons, of Bankfield Mill, Dobcross, Saddleworth, were woollen manufacturers, established ca. 1850. John Hirst (1802-77) established the business. He entered into partnership with his sons John, William Lockwood, Ben, Joshua and Arthur.
