Scope and Content

Leaflets and other publicity literature for events in celebration of the Australian Bicentennial, 1988: comprising literature produced by the Australian Bicentennial Authority, the New South Wales Bicentennial Council, and the Bicentennial Festival of Sydney, micsellaneous leaflets and leaflets regarding events in the UK.

Administrative / Biographical History

Australia held a year of celebrations in 1988 to mark the 200th anniversary of the founding of the country. Events were co-ordinated by the Australian Bicentennial Authority, with individual states, cities and other organisations mounting their own celebrations.

Arrangement

Leaflets produced by particular organisations have been grouped together, with a remaining set of miscellaneous items, and a further file of leaflets for events in the UK.

Access Information

Open although advance notice should be given. Access to individual items may be restricted under the Data Protection Act or Freedom of Information legislation.
