NPG - Minutes of the Displays Committee Meetings

Scope and Content

The Displays Commissioning Meeting aims to meet four times a year to hear and discuss proposals for temporary displays at the Gallery. The meetings also include discussions of content, logistics, security, design and press and marketing strategies for displays coming up in the next year. The exact date of the creation of the Displays Commissioning Meeting is unknown, although records begin in 2012.

The meetings are chaired by the Chief Curator, and attended by most curators as well as representatives from most other departments, including Design, Learning & Engagement, Digital Programmes, Corporate Development and Communications.

In 2018 the Displays Committee Meeting superseded the Displays Commissioning Meeting. At this time the minutes for meetings became more condensed, focussing on action points rather than discussion.
