COPY PHOTOGRAPH of a steam train 84003 at Amlwch [later used for The Welsh Dragon service].

Administrative / Biographical History

84003 is also featured on the internet with the Welsh Dragon Plaque. The Push - pull train, the Welsh Dragon, that ran between Rhyl and Llandudno during the 1950's and 1960's was the only push - pull shuttle on BR that was named in the timetable, making it a unique service. The train consisted of three non - corridor coaches complete with boards, and a 2-6-2 Tank engine fitted with push - pull apparatus, which was allocated to Rhyl depot.
