PAPERS OF THE REVEREND JOHN LOGGIN'S CHARITY

Scope and Content

These papers were deposited with Oxfordshire Archives on permanent loan in 1984, and given the accession number 2257.

This Charity came into being when the Revd. John Loggin of Swalcliffe, Rector of Long Marston, gave, in his Will dated 20 Nov. 1726, 200 pounds for the poor of Swalcliffe, Sibford Gower, Sibford Ferris, Burdrop, Clifford Chambers, Quinton and Long Marston (the last three are in Glos), or any other place where he had property at the time of his death.

The surviving records to the Charity, include a minute book, a plan of some premises owned by the Charity and several financial documents.
