ANNUAL REPORTS OF OXFORD CITY MORAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION

Scope and Content

For most of the period covered by the records of the OCMWA and Skene Welfare Associations the Secretaries were: Cecilia Ady of St Hugh's College (1938-1942); Miss R. M. Haig Brown, formerly Headmistress of the Oxford High School for Girls, and Miss Amy Frances Davies, formerly a teacher at the Oxford Girls' High School, joint secretaries 1942-1956, and Mrs Kathleen Campbell (1956-1979).

Most of the material catalogued here relates to the period of Mrs Campbell's Secretaryship. Her records were returned to the Skene Welfare Association in 1984 and the working party appointed to sort them completed its work in August 1986. Residents' files, containing particulars and some correspondence, were destroyed, by the unanimous decision of the working party. The date is that of the year covered by the report. The OCMWA became the Skene Welfare Association in 1968.
