Illustration to 'William McGonagall: the truth at last'

Scope and Content

Two MS illustrations in black on separate pieces of paper but mounted on the same piece of cardboard. The left drawing is of what appears to be a bell with a kilt decoration on it and arms and legs emerging from it. The drawing on the right depicts four mountains, three with similar decorations to the bell on them. A small figure, presumably McGonagall, is standing beneath them with a speech bubble ‘oooooooh beautiful Bridge over the silvery Tay’. MS annotations in blue on the cardboard ‘143’, circled, above the left picture; ‘144’, circled, above the right picture and a line down the middle of the cardboard to divide the images. On the reverse, an MS annotation in blue ‘2871/24’.
