MS black pen and felt tip self-portrait of Milligan in his uniform, standing surrounded by darkness. MS caption underneath: ‘Very Well, alone then!’ and something written beneath this but since crossed out, underlined. A further MS caption below this: ‘Gnr. Milligan. 954024 defending England June 1940’ and ‘P.11’ written in bottom right hand corner. On the reverse, MS annotations: ‘24 cms wide’, once in the middle of the paper in pencil, and once at the bottom in blue, and ‘7a (page 11)' in the top left hand corner in red.
