Correspondence between Spike Milligan and Cyril Barrett

Scope and Content

Five letters between Milligan and Cyril Barrett of Warwick university, dated between 27 September 1971 and 16 December 1971. Two TS from Milligan, two MS from Barrett, and one TS from Norma Farnes replying on Milligan’s behalf due to his being in Australia at the time. The letters refer to an illustration Barrett wishes to buy from Milligan, mentioned as “enclosed” in the first letter. Barrett expresses his appreciation of Milligan’s artwork, and of ‘Adolf Hitler: My Part in his Downfall’ in the final letter, while Milligan mainly concentrates on the financial side of the transaction. See Item 21, presumably the continuation of this correspondence.
