TS letter, on the headed paper of the publishers Michael Joseph Ltd, from Louise Haines to Milligan, dated ‘30 January 1990’. Mentions enclosed drawings of the design for the dust jacket of ‘It Ends with Magic’. Explains the reasoning and intention behind the design and apologises for it being ‘roughly done’. Requests Milligan’s thoughts on it and mentions the colour scheme. MS signature ‘Louise’ underneath. The enclosed drawings consist of two photocopied leaves stapled together, depicting the front and back of the dust jacket. The former has an elaborate design of various toys as a border, with three pictures in the middle, of a man, woman and baby respectively. Above this, the author and title ‘SPIKE MILLIGAN | And it ends with Magic……’ and a subtitle below the picture ‘A Milligan | Family Story’. A photocopied MS note at the bottom of the page ‘TO [underlined] BOB EEMES FROM GRAHAM PHILPOT 9922544’. The latter page shows an empty picture frame, with a photocopied MS note at the bottom of the page ‘TO [underlined] BOB EEMES’.
