Scope and Content

Two MS illustrations in black of McGonagall in France, on separate pieces of paper but mounted on the same piece of cardboard. The left drawing shows McGonagall floating down a dirty-looking river, with a speech bubble ‘ooooo beautiful etc’, while a man looks over a wall at him, with a speech bubble ‘You are In Seine’. The drawing on the right shows McGonagall with a speech bubble ‘ooooo Ou est la Plume de ma Tante the noo’. Signed ‘SM’ on a separate small piece of paper, taped underneath the left picture. MS annotations in blue on the cardboard ‘62’, circled, above the left picture; ‘65’, circled, above the right picture and a line down the middle of the cardboard to divide the images. On the reverse, an MS annotation in blue ‘2871/24’.
