Eliza [Tabor] to her husband

Scope and Content

From Malvern to India. Correcting proofs of new book 'Lady Forrester's Companion', to be published some time in summer. Still waiting for cases from Calcutta. Seen a good deal of Tennysons lately, as they are just moving into their new house nearby and it is not yet in order. Mr Tennyson will join the Ruskin afternoons and read for them. Has not seen his brother (the poet) for ten years. Also knows Browning and used to know Mrs Browning in Florence. Feels he has wasted his considerable abilities; his wife does all the organising, 'he just reads and wanders about'. Children went bird-nesting on hills; Noel very interested in egg collection.
