From Rome to Liverpool. Has had appointment with Secretary of Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; much worried by treatment of animals in Rome, through ignorance and thoughtlessness. Fears the life at Liverpool will be very tiring and that a more peaceful living, where 'real home-life may being for good'will come soon. But feels there will be stimulus in meeting new people. Thinks Eliza should not tire herself with rough work. Thinks Rome would not be a good place to bring girls to, because they might be influenced by the fascinating side of the Roman Church; she has very much enjoyed the singing and the atmosphere in some churches.
