From Liverpool to her sister, travelling, written on sheet used for copy of note to Miss Morris. Note requested information for paper on subject of vivisection for a debating club. Delay in sending it, but doubts if M.C. would have been able to do anything about it. Feels M.C. must find Rome interesting, but Eliza is not drawn to Rome so much as Florence; feels it needs so much knowledge to appreciate it. Begins to feel settled, and many callers in afternoons. Particularly likes Mrs Healey and Mrs Somervill; both have links with Ruskin. Mr. Somervill has been treasurer of St. George's Company. Twenty Sunday School teachers to tea at 7 p.m.; stayed until 11, having committee meeting.
