Very upset by long silence from him and his family and then when his letter arrived no mention of health of his son or a hoped for visit. Tells him about his little niece Emily who has been staying with them. Remarks on the 'Great Exhibition'. Has had news of her father from a friend from Hobart Town; 'he seems much pleased with his new country'.
