Deeds, wills and other records, of the Gwynfryn estate, Mostyn estate and others, 1688-1926, relating to properties in Llanystumdwy, Bangor, Clynnog, Llanllyfni, Criccieth, Botwnnog, Llanaelhaearn, Llanbeblig, Llandudno, Llannor, Llanengan, Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, Denio and elsewhere in Caernarfonshire, Llanelltyd, Trawsfynydd, Llanfachreth and elsewhere in Merionethshire, Llanfaelog and Llanidan, Anglesey, Llanrwst and elsewhere in Denbighshire, and in Cheshire, Flintshire, Pembrokeshire and Surrey; miscellaneous letters, 1822-1931, mainly relating to solicitors, including Messrs Tyrer, Kenion, Tyrer and Simpson of Liverpool; plans relating to properties in Llanfaelog and Denio, 1839-1919; papers relating to the sale of Belan, Llanfaelog, 1919; and lists and miscellaneous items, 1823-1891.

Richard Ellis ([1730]-1805) of Gwynfryn, Llanystumdwy, Caernarfonshire, married Catherine, daughter of Richard Nanney of Cefndeuddwr, Merionethshire, in 1757. Their son, David Ellis Nanney (d 1819), left his estate to his nephew, Owen Jones (1790-1870) of Brynhir, Criccieth, Caernarfonshire, and of Cefndeuddwr, who assumed the additional name of Ellis-Nanney. Owen's eldest son and heir was Hugh John Ellis Nanney, created a baronet in 1897. The Gwynfryn estate had links with the Mostyn estate, Flintshire, and included land in Caernarfonshire, Merionethshire, and elsewhere in England and Wales. The estate was administered by Messrs Tyrer, Kenion, Tyrer and Simpson, Solicitors, of Liverpool, Lancashire.
