Photograph of Legros, 'Tête de Philosophe'. Numbered and annotated on reverse for inclusion in Harold Wright's projected Legros catalogue (563). No.563 was originally 'Le Portrait de Mlle N.E. Legros', but the artist was not satisfied with is, and destroyed the plate without any proofs being taken (or at least without any being preserved). This left No.563 of the catalogue vacant, and Mr. L.A. Legros assigned that number to this undescribed 'Tête de Philosophe'. About 4 or 5 proofs only. B has 3 (of which 2 were from Goulding), Cro had 1, Mann had 1
