Britain Can Make It Exhibition, 1946. Living-room with kitchen recess in a small house, designed by Mrs Darcy Braddell. The kitchen is arranged in an alcove and all the fittings are built-in. The room has a "Signet" multiple duty unit for cooking and space and water heating, this is enamelled cream with duck-egg blue tiles. The oak chairs and tables are by Heal & Sons. The wall paper is light blue and the window frame is painted vermilion. The cushions are in bluey-grey and red and the curtains blue.
