James I. [Report and petition concerning fisheries. c. 1610?] Report on the existing state of fishing round the coasts of Britain and in the North Sea and on the numbers of foreign fishing vessels operating there, written to elicit royal support for building up the domestic fishing fleet. Dated from references on p. 20 to the 'late Queen', i.e. Elizabeth I, and to the Earl of Salisbury, i.e. Robert Cecil the first Earl who died in 1612.
