A typewritten note on Vizir , a horse formerly owned by Napoleon I, which had recently been rediscovered at the Louvre Museum, Paris. The note explains that the remains of the horse, which died in 1829, had been donated to the Manchester Natural History Society in 1842 by J Greaves. In 1868, the stuffed horse was offered to Napoleon III and evidently had been accepted. Vizir is now on display in the Musée de l'Armée, Les Invalides, Paris. The note has been compiled at some time after the dissolution of the Society.
