On cost of postage, wanting to keep open a thread of contact despite hearing no news from her, news from Coniston, the sale of Bettyfold, a card addressed to Roger [Altounyan], Oscar meeting an aircraft designer, exhibition doing well [Ruskin?/Lake Artists' Society?], [Dora]'s sketch from Troutbeck, Ursula's artwork, gossip about artists, blackberrying, hearing from Arthur [Ransome], sending away Diana [servant] and trying to do without - Kammie going to miss her, Ursula's evacuees, Miss Holt being pushed out of her house due to enemy activity, hearing 'Jerry' [German Aircraft] often but no eggs being laid [bombs dropped] within 15 miles of them, food shortage being unknown, Ethel enjoying a holiday in the Lakes but [Barbara] not knowing whether she means to join him [Robin?], Robin being at work on his great book but hearing nothing of it, Bill at work at the RAF, Kammie's wellbeing, not being able to send her anything for her Silver Wedding .
