Scope and Content

On receiving letters, Dora being in Oxford with Barbara and Ursula, seeing Alan Insole's name in the list of the wounded, the idea of someone like Alan fighting in the war, Dora's writing cabinet having been sent, the weather, drawing some flowers sent by Auntie Jessie, a visit from a new neighbour, Betty Owen coming for lunch and tea and feeling that her spirits are picking up, and Dora's invitation for her to come and stay.
