On being able to write to him again [after his voyage from Iceland?], forwarding notes, Gershom not being able to come home with a beard and how much Dorrie loves his face, excitement about his return, what they have been doing while he was away including visitors, trying to put Bailey Saunders off from visiting but him not taking the hint and coming to Coniston anyway, life without Gershom, arrangements for his return, the Severns and furnishing the Coniston Bank which they have renamed 'The Grange', and the DiPa's [John Ruskin's] health.
