On waiting for her baby to be born and Dora being late too, news that Hilde [a cousin from Austria] is married, Ursula sending a gingerbread, a visit from Betty Owen with tea at Tent Lodge and a drive to Belmont, daffodils, Ernest's suggestion that she go to London and bring Dora back but Ursula and Gershom not agreeing, Ursula being able to go to her if she is wanted, not having prepared for their visit yet, not being able to decorate her room because of a shortage of workmen and not using flour for paste [wartime restrictions], Ernest's letter, which bed she would like when she comes, vaccinations of babies within a month and risks in the village.
