On time since she received her telegram from Jerusalem, hoping to hear from her, wanting news of Susie [Altounyan], enquiries about airmail to Palestine but seeming a wild idea in the present situation [Second World War], bombs in Haifa, drought being replaced by floods, the fête at Monk Coniston, Fred's visit, Ursula receiving a voluntary evacuee, not being able to think about France, and her feelings about the war.
