Scope and Content

On letter writing, a sad time for many, hearing from Robin that they are hard pressed for coal and supplies, spring coming, wanting to see [spring in the Lakes] but seeing no chance for years ahead, concern about Robin but feeling that if he gets some walks with Edgar Ca[nitt?] he will pull through, hoping to go to India and his sister already being there, missionary work, discomfort about the privileges of religion in England, a book about Clondyke "The Magnetic North" - part of which makes him feel that Romanism is the one religion, questioning the value of absolute obedience to an order, friends that complain about him being serious, asking her to ask Robin to send an address, wishing she could come and paint, and the beauties of the Lincoln coast.
