On a card not being forwarded, the weather, Ivy [Ransome - Arthur Ransome's first wife] coming the following day, Arthur [Ransome] turning up and receiving bad news from his publishers, Arthur worrying that Ivy 'will be in a stew', the house being cleaned and full of flowers, Mary being vexed that Arthur trampled in mud and littered the drawing room with his things, Arthur being heedless, ordering sirloin because Ivy 'must have beef', the Holts leaving, Robin bicycling to Grange, Mrs Marshall turning up as they were having tea and not hitting it off with Mrs Bee, and being glad of Kammie's letter.
