On not hearing since Christmas, an Invitation from the President of the Ruskin Society to lunch to celebrate Ruskin's Birthday, Arthur [Ransome] turning down the invitation to speak at Ruskin's birthday lunch, February weather, no shortage of food, feeding Oscar and Kammie, having to reduce their number of cats, the Troutbeck household being ill with coughs, bad news of Robin's health, Robin's work on his book, Robin writing about bombs in London, a friend dying of cancer, news of various people, photographs, Mrs A[ltounyan], writing to the British Red Cross about interned civilians in France and wondering whether to write to Susie at all three addresses, the Ransomes coming to celebrate the anniversary, Bill Collingwood arriving, shopping with Genia [Ransome].
