Scope and Content

Receiving his two postcards, not being able to send his parcel to him, having a busy day, the new maid, going to Brantwood, Mrs Severn looking perturbed, the Allens wanting to see the Professor [John Ruskin] but not being permitted, seeing [John Ruskin] with the children, letters, employing someone to help with the children, paying for the carpet, the store, plans to work on curtains and getting the painting room into order, and being asked for advice on oil painting by Arthur Severn.
