On her letter and one from Mrs Bee, a family having a lot to put up with, her father, the weather, her father's letter, waiting for plaster and coke, seeing Toby, [Arthur Ransome] coming the previous day and seeming in good spirits, a caricature [of Arthur Ransome] in the Manchester Guardian and a sketch of it, the Manchester Guardian not paying [Arthur Ransome] any further salary, her dentist's bill, money, dinner at the 1917 club and seeing Mr Grenfell, and books for her library list.
