1. 28 September 1962. Memorandum of Agreement between J G Ballard and Victor Gollancz Ltd, of 14 Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, London WC2, in respect of The Four-Dimensional Nightmare. Signed by both parties.

2. 23 October 1963. Contract between J G Ballard (c/o Scott Meredith Literary Agency, New York) and William Morrow and Company, Inc., of New York, in respect of 'a work of fiction as yet untitled'. Ballard's copy, signed by Morrow only.

3. 8 June 1964. Memorandum of Agreement between J G Ballard (c/o Scott Meredith Literary Agency, New York) and Jonathan Cape Ltd, of 30 Bedford Square, London WC1, in respect of The Drought. Duplicated copy without signatures.

4. Agreement without date [1965?] between J G Ballard (c/o Scott Meredith Literary Agency, New York) and Berkley Publishing Corporation, of 15 East 26th Street, New York, in respect of 'a work at present entitled "Equinox" [...] the manuscript of which is in novellette [sic] form'. Signed by both parties, and initialled by Ballard against clauses where additions or deletions have been made.

5. 25 January 1966. Memorandum of Agreement between J G Ballard (c/o Scott Meredith Literary Agency, New York) and Jonathan Cape Ltd, of 30 Bedford Square, London WC1, in respect of a work provisionally entitled 'Short Stories'. Signed only by Tom Maschler of Jonathan Cape.
